An area that also has a very varied offer of outdoor activities such as adventure sports (rafting, hydrospeed, canyoning, bungee jumping, quads, climbing, trekking,...), horse riding, hiking and cultural routes with Romanesque art as protagonist, always framed in extraordinary natural landscapes. You don't have to worry about anything, we offer you numerous possibilities to spend unforgettable days in which fishermen and their companions occupy the time according to their preferences. For the fishermen, the Trout is, in most cases, autochthonous, something exceptional in these times. We are probably talking about the salmonid and the most difficult and demanding fishing area that a fly fisherman can face. It is possible to fish in high mountain lakes and in some where stable populations of salvelinus have adapted (at 2300 metres high: Llacs de Romedos).
One of the most famous activities in the Catalan Pyrenees is fly fishing. Trout fishing began to spread at the beginning of the 1930s, and since then it has been a great attraction for many international travellers. The Noguera Pallaresa and Noguera Del Cardós rivers are the ideal habitat for trout and for those who are passionate about this mythical sport they have an unbeatable space in these rivers to enjoy fishing.
Besides the people of the area, many visitors come from Montana, Glasgow, Paris or Melbourne to practice fishing in a natural environment.
We have exceptional fishing guides, specialists in the area who know all the secrets of the region. The final destination can be either high mountain rivers and lakes like Alt Pallars, Vall d'Arán and Alta Ribagorça or low mountain rivers like Sort, Gerri de la sal, Martinet, Seu d'urgell or Oliana. You should consult the best option depending on the weather conditions and the state of the rivers. In the high mountain lakes of Lladorre you will have to hire a taxi service, as they are within private property, which is not included in the price and will be paid for by the customers.
Species: Salvelinus, native Fario trout, common trout and rainbow trout. In any case, live catches will always be returned to the water (catch and release). Hiring the service of a fishing guide allows the fisherman to know which flies to choose in each situation, to learn to read the river and its fishing options from an expert in those waters, to transform the moments of doubt and the blockages that occur when fishing is not going well, into lessons that not only take the fisherman out of the way, but also allow him to improve his level by acquiring new and better techniques.
The fishing trip will be enlivened by a picnic, an open-air meal arranged and provided by the fishing guide.
It usually includes ham, cheese, sausages, bread, wine and some soft drinks or beer. There are many corners and beautiful landscapes to rest for a while while you get your strength back to continue the fishing day.
For those who wish to spend more than a day fishing in the area or for other tourist activities, we can spend a day, a weekend, a week or 15 days with accommodation as an extra service of the fishing trip. We have several options of hotels and rural houses depending on the area where you prefer to spend the night, either to be near the fishing area or to continue a tour of the Romanesque churches of La Vall de Boí, named World Heritage or a route in a 4x4 taxi through the National Park of Aigüestortes.
The fishing day can be any day of the week, always depending on obtaining the daily fishing permit within the quota limited to each section. An easily located meeting point will be established, close to the fishing area. If the fisherman does not have a vehicle, the guide can pick him up at home for an additional charge, to be calculated according to the mileage.
Access to very high mountain and lake areas requires the service of local 4x4 taxis and must be hired on site at the expense of the fisherman or group of fishers.
