FISHING GUIDE SERVICE

The River Ter is one of the largest and most voluminous rivers in the internal basin of Catalonia. It begins in Ulldeter, in the Pyrenees, and crosses the regions of Ripollés, Osona, La Selva, and Gironés, passing through the city of Girona, and the Baix Ampordà, flowing into the Mediterranean at the Gola del Ter.

Between Osona and La Selva is the Sau-Susqueda-Pasteral reservoir system. Above the reservoirs, we have an extensive fishing area around Ribes de Freser, Ripoll and Camdevanol combining sections of the Ter and Freser rivers.

Below the dam, in the Anglés area, intensive fishing is practised all year round. It is one of the best fishing preserves in Spain and southern Europe and the frequent visits by international fishermen prove it. The guided fly fishing trips organised by Salmon 2000 offer the angler access to the area with better conditions, making the most of the fishing day with the technical advice of our guide.

The Ter River has a population of native fario trout, of medium size in the upper areas of the river and with some specimens that can reach 45cm.

There are some trouts that have adapted and been kept in the river from old repopulations and nowadays it is difficult to distinguish them from the native fish. Fishing in Anglès can be done on dry flies, nymphs and tandem, giving the option to all the preferences of the fishermen, but above all offering corners suitable for each of these fly fishing variants.

There are also some areas where spoon fishing is allowed. On the other hand, there are also periodic repopulations of fario trout which, together with the rainbow trout repopulated in previous years and currently adapted to the habitat, offer a reserve with a high density of fish, ideal for recreational and competitive fishing throughout the year.

THE FISHING GUIDE

Going with a fly fishing guide allows the angler to know which flies to choose in each situation, to learn to read the river and its fishing options from an expert in those waters. Furthermore, when fishing with our professional guides, if you wish you can improve your technique or expand your knowledge of fishing, entomology or ecology.

PICNIC

The fishing day will be enlivened by an open-air meal, arranged and provided by the fishing guide.

It usually includes typical products of the appreciated Catalan gastronomy.

ACCOMMODATION

If you want to extend the experience of sightseeing you can book accommodation as an extra service on the fishing tour guided. We have several options of rural house depending on the area where you prefer to spend the night, either to be near the fishing area or to continue a tour.

-The fishing day will be any day of the week, always depending on the availability of daily fishing permits.

-The choice of the fishing area will depend on the conditions of the river, the weather and will be agreed between the guide and the fisherman.

-The fishing day will be for a full day and will be contracted with sufficient notice to be able to guarantee the confirmation of all the services. Fisherman and Guide are covered by an accident and civil responsibility insurance, with wide coverage.
